COASTAL EROSION

THE AMCO CONSORTIUM

For projects addressing coastal management and the fight against coastal erosion, ARCA _med as entered into a Consortium with COREMA Spiagge srl, an innovating NewCo, which has developed a technique named R.M.C.E (RESILIENT MANAGEMENT OF COASTAL EROSION), which is the object of Patent N.0001397639.

This revolutionary technique is based on the study, modelling, and management of the coastal bottom sea currents.

The knowledge acquired on a case-by case basis is then used to design interventions to produce a hydrodynamic equilibrium that restores the natural equilibrium of the beach. The application of this technique has produced conclusive results on the Italian coast, in projects funded by the Regional Government of Emilia rRomagna and four Communes of the Adriatic Coast.

The AC consortium combines the specific technical knowhow of COREMA with Arca.-med’s experience in Climate Change Adaptation, Sustainable Development and Disaster Risk Reduction, so as to obtain an ideal synergy.
